Professor/Teacher Blogging

Most posts on blogging in a classroom focus on the student’s benefits, but what about the professor’s benefits? Student’s benefit from writing and creating something with a topic of their choice in mind. Professor I can only see benefiting from this if he or she would be an author on each students blog. This could allow a professor to easily make changes to a blog post that the student has created. What do you think the benefits for a professor or teacher is for using a blog?

  1. I see it useful for the instructor as they would act like the moderator of the blogs. While the word moderator usually means to monitors the posts, and keep everyone on topic, I see an added aspect to this job. The instructor can use this ability to pose additional questions, offer suggestions, and engage discussion between other classmates on the topic.
